This is the VA’s figure, not ours. Amounts and eligibility are set and decided by the VA.
What the benefit coversMedically necessary changes to your home
- Allowing entrance to or exit from the primary residence
- Use of essential lavatory and sanitary facilities — for example, a roll-in shower
- Accessibility to kitchen or bathroom sinks and counters
- Improving entrance paths or driveways immediately around the home
- Improving plumbing or electrical systems made necessary by home medical equipment
The higher amount applies to
- A service-connected disability
- A compensable disability treated as if it were service-connected
- A non-service-connected disability, where the Veteran has a service-connected disability rated at least 50 percent

Get reimbursed by HISA
We’ll work with you to coordinate the initial portion of your HISA grant. Depending on your individual circumstances, the remaining balance will be due either when we arrive to begin the installation or upon completion of the project. Your specific payment schedule will be clearly outlined in your agreement.
Talk to the VA first, then talk to us
Start with your VA medical provider — the benefit runs through them, and they will tell you what you qualify for. Once you know, we will come out, measure, and give you an estimate you can use.
The visit is free. There is no sales presentation, and we will not tell you that you qualify for something — that is the VA’s call, not ours.
